LAURENS CENTRAL SCHOOL
"New York State Annual Professional Performance Review Plans" for Teachers and Principals.
The New York State Department of Education, as a part of the "Race To The Top" federal program to improve education, is requiring that all school districts develop new Annual Professional Performance Review Plans for the purpose of evaluating teachers and principals. These new evaluation tools build upon existing evaluation instruments and will require the inclusion of data that is reflective of student academic achievement and growth as determined through the use of state and locally developed assessments.
Presently our district is in the process of developing the required evaluation tools. It is our hope to have the evaluation instrument for the Building Principal completed by the end of this school year, and the teacher evaluation tool fully developed and implemented by the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
Should you have any questions about these new requirements, please contact the District office at 607-432-2050, extension 2.
