New Students

Welcome!

We would like to welcome all new students to the Laurens Central School District!
 
Please be aware that New York State has some requirements pertaining to ANY students who are new to the district. All new students must have a physical exam. This may be completed by your family doctor (if so, please inform the school). If not, your child will receive a physical from the school doctor in September or early October. Please call the school nurse, Ms. Wust, if you have any questions.

New York State also requires students to have certain types of standardized testing on file. Depending on what type of testing your child took at his/her previous school, your child may have to take some standardized testing during the first weeks of school. There are also required tests which must be given at certain grade levels for any child who previously attended school in another state. If you have any questions about testing, please call the Elementary Counselor, Mr. Horne, or the High School Counselor, Ms. Dennett.
 
Kindergarteners

Dear Parents,

We need to have a better idea of the numbers of pre-schoolers living in our community. This information is vital to the educational process, from purchasing pencils and papers to assigning classroom teachers.

If you have pre-school children living in your home would you please provide us with the following
information. If you have a child who will be five (5) years old by December 1, and who will be coming to our kindergarten in September, please list that child first. We will put you on a mailing list to receive a packet for kindergarten screening. We would truly appreciate receiving this information from you.
