School Garden News The School Garden is up and growing! We prepared all the beds and planted some plants. We will continue to work throughout the summer on Tuesday nights, at 6:00. Please join us and pass on this info to anyone who may be interested. Children are not only encouraged to come, but expected! There will be age appropriate activities for all! If you have any questions, the best contact would be Kelly Decker (Lauryn Decker's mom) at kellyzeedee@hotmail.com |

| As you may know, this year the LCS Garden Committee and interested friends planted a small garden between the Multi-Purpose Room and the new wing of the school. We had a pleasant mix of vegetables, annuals and perennials. You may have viewed the pictures on our school's website. The purpose of this email is to ask you if you would like to get more involved. Initially, we are asking for donations of various perennials for this fall. If you would like to contribute, we ask that you contact any member of the garden committee: "Kelly Zack-Decker" <kellyzeedee@hotmail.com ; "Tami LaPilusa" lapitl67@oneonta.edu ; "Tom Tirado" <ttirado@laurenscs.org ; "Corena Martin" <cmartin@laurenscs.org > and mention what it is you would like to contribute. We want to try to eliminate duplication of plants if possible. Also we ask please that you write your name on your garden donation and explain exactly what it is you have given, so we may properly plant it and mark it accordingly. If possible we would like to plant during the first week of November, 2010. The senior class will be instrumental in helping us complete this task. Additionally, if you want to become more involved but cannot do so this fall, please remember us in the spring and for Earth Day. We hope to expand and plant extensively then. We would also love to hear comments and suggestions from you. With sincere thanks, Garden Committee Member, |
