School Security

The main entrance to the building will be from the bus loop. All visitors, parents and students entering the building during the day need to park their vehicle in the designated spaces ( see parking rules) and enter the building through the front doors. You will be required to sign in at the main office.

From 7:45 – 8:05 in the morning and at 2:50pm the side doors of the building will be opened for parents to drop students off and pick them up in the afternoon. This will reduce congestion in the front of the building.


Effective 12/18/2006 all doors will be locked at 8:05AM, except the Front door. All persons entering the building will be required to enter through this door and will sign in. This procedure will not impact the ability of anyone, student or adult, to exit the building through any door, as required by New York State Law.

School Tax Information

The Tax Collector will accept payment for school taxes beginning September 1, 2021 and ending October 31, 2021. Payment may be mailed to the Collector, Robert Zack, Laurens Central School, PO Box 301 Laurens, NY 13796. Checks should be made payable to Robert Zack, Tax Collector.

THE COLLECTOR WILL ACCEPT TAXES BY MAIL OR YOU MAY PUT THEM IN THE DROP BOX LOCATED IN THE MAIN LOBBY OF THE SCHOOL MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY BETWEEN 7:00 AM AND 3:30 PM, EXCEPT FOR HOLIDAYS. Taxes will be collected at no penalty from September 1, 2021, through September 30, 2021, and at 2% interest through October 31, 2021. All taxes remaining unpaid after October 31, 2021, will be returned to the Otsego County Treasurer

The cost of sponsoring a newsletter is $150.00 This covers the cost of the mailing, and does not include copying, paper, or labor costs for the creation, typing, and editing of the newsletter. One of the most effective ways to improve the quality of education for our youth is to provide a constant form of communication between the school and the home. Keeping parents and community members well informed is vital to the success of our children.
